let’s talk about having more energy

Let’s face it, we can almost all use more energy. It’s something that most people struggle with at some point. So let’s talk about some helpful tips to make us all feel more energetic throughout the day.

Getting the right amount of sleep for your body is optimal in terms of energy. There is no perfect set number of hours of sleep, but experts say between 6-9 is perfect. You have to figure out for yourself what is your optimal time by seeing how you feel for each of those timelines. A great way to help you get restful sleep is to diffuse or use topically a blend of oils to relax you like: Peace & CalmingLavenderCedarwood or my favorite is a blend of Bergamot, Lavender and Frankincense. (when I speak about using an oil topically on the skin, I’m only speaking about Young Living Essential Oils because I know they are safe to be used that way)

There are many different oils and blends that can help energize the room. Here are a few of my favorites:

  • 4 drops Peppermint to aromatically inspire a sense of concentration, 6 drops Orange for a bright, energizing aroma and 2 drops Idaho Balsam Fir for a scent that enhances calming and grounding (you can cut this recipe in half if it’s too strong for you)
  • 6 drops Lime for a cheerful and relaxing aroma, 2 drops Eucalyptus Radiata for a scent that inspires energy, 4 drops Copaiba/Cedarwood to help create a grounding environment (you can cut this recipe in half if it’s too strong for you)
  • Equal parts Bergamot and Eucalyptus (Radiata or Globulus)
  • Young Living’s blend called En-R-Gee

Exercise can improve mood, boost energy, and lead to better sleep, meaning a happier, healthier, more balanced you. {source} While it seems like a more relaxing practice, doing Yoga can actually give you energy for the day. Adding essential oils to your Yoga practice can really increase the energy.

Refuel with NingXia Red. NingXia Red® singles are easy to pack in your lunch or in your purse—making it easy to get a boost of pure essential oils and superfruits in the middle of your day. NingXia Zyng is another great option, especially if you need some carbonation. And there’s always the quick pick-me-up: NingXia Nitro.

Take a Probiotic and support your gut! With a healthier gut, you will maintain higher levels of energy to make it through that post-lunch I-still-have-four-hours-of-work-left slump {source}. My personal favorite is Life 9 – I’ve tried a host of other probiotic brands (one from my functional medicine doctor and a few from the drug store) and there is an absolute difference in the way my gut feels with the other brands…and it’s not good. So I stick with what I know for my body!

Eat REAL food. Stay away from the processed foot if at all possible. You can try some superfruits like apples, stone fruits, berries, tomatoes. Cut out processed sugar. For me, cutting out gluten has also been a factor in terms of my energy, as gluten gives me extreme fatigue.

This is in no way a complete list, but instead a way to get you started in having more energy! What changes can you implement today?

P.S. If you’re not currently a Young Living member and would like to try any of the items I talked about, you can purchase them here.
